Intro to Mindfulness Course (formerly Koru Basic)
The UAMS Mindfulness Program is pleased to offer Intro to Mindfulness (formerly Koru Basic) to the public.
This course will teach Mindfulness skills to help participants fully experience life moment-to-moment with kindness and without judgment. It will help participants learn to reduce stress and increase self-compassion while finding balance in life.
Intro to Mindfulness is a meditation program that is popular and widely used on many college campuses in the U.S. It was developed by Dr. Holly Rogers, a psychiatrist from the Duke University Student Counseling Center, and her colleagues. The Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults is now an independent organization with hundreds of teachers worldwide. Although this course was developed for “emerging adults”, it is beneficial for all age groups.
