Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979. MBSR is the gold standard and one of the most research-validated mindfulness interventions in the scientific literature.

Do you want to cultivate more moments of peace?

Our MBSR course can teach you practical skills and techniques that can help you cultivate positivity, inner strength, and peace, which can be useful in times of difficulty, stress, illness, and pain.

Here’s How We Can Help

The UAMS MBSR Course is a transformative nine-week program designed to cultivate mindfulness and enhance overall well-being. Participants engage in weekly 2.5-hour sessions, with a full-day retreat toward the end of the course for a deeper exploration of mindfulness practices.

This evidence-based program integrates mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, and stress reduction techniques to help individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience. Participants will develop practical skills to manage stress, improve focus, and foster healthier relationships with daily demands.

Our MBSR teachers are certified and trained to guide participants through the program with expertise and care. We provide a peaceful, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where all participants can grow in their mindfulness journey.

Here’s What You Can Expect

  • Guided mindfulness meditation practices
  • Gentle stretching and mindful movement exercises
  • Group dialogue and discussions
  • Mentored instructions on MBSR meditation practices
  • Printed and digital materials, and other resources
