Dr. Brigette Serfaty is an Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy where she teaches lifestyle medicine and nuclear pharmacy. She began practicing yoga more than 30 years ago during college as a way to manage her stress and tendency toward burnout while balancing being a full-time worker/student/wife. As a corporate leader, she began teaching yoga and mindfulness/meditation as a way to help manage the stress of corporate mergers, downsizings and cultures of overwork. This corporate experience led her to mindset and well-being coaching as a way to encourage well-being at work for her team and for herself. Her passion is bringing mindfulness and flourishing into everyday work and life with simple daily well-being strategies that reduce stress and increase joy and connection – in the midst of a busy life. She is trained in Mindfulness Meditation (MMTCP), Mindfulness-based Strengths Practice and is on the pathway to certification in Koru Mindfulness. To best support her students and clients, she is also trained in NLP coaching, TimeLine Therapy, yoga therapy, integrative health, well-being & life coaching. Outside of UAMS, you can find her leading retreats, workshops, trainings and well-being and mindset mastermind groups. Fun looks like hiking, paddle-boarding, travel and spending time with her husband and their combined families with 3 daughters, one son and two joyful & sloppy dogs. Life is always a mixed bag of joy and messiness around the Serfaty household.
